Echo-A Dystopian Science Fiction Novel

Ever been with someone who always cuts you off?  Who is only comfortable when THEY direct the conversation?  I’m on a dinner-date with one such girl.  She also keeps checking her phone and saying “Sorry,” as if that qualifier excuses the rudeness.  She cuts me off for the millionth time and I grit my teeth.  I quietly open my eReader to Echo.  Magic flash.  Three demonic dog heads erupt from her the screen of her phone and start barking furiously at her and scarfing down her food.  Her hands fly up and her mouth opens in utter shock and then she’s screaming, fleeing from the restaurant.  The dog-heads give me puppy eyes, roll across the table and make a mess.  I can’t help but smile and pet them.  Good doggies.

Conversation is becoming a lost art.  Do your part to bring it back.  Get Echo Vol. 1 on Kindle here:  Vol. 1 on Kindle.  Vol. 2 on Kindle here:  Vol.2 on Kindle.

  1. That made me chuckle. So true. I walk each day to and fro to my bus from work and bump into so many people who can’t raise their eyes from their mobile phones.
I always wonder why. Why can’t they wait. What’s so all consuming they walk like drones with their heads stuck in a screen
