Alternate Universe. Mcdonald’s controls 90% of the Earth, the rest is held by desperate rebel factions. An alternate Kent Wayne is bought before the Mcdonald’s overlord, a giant mechanized robot that looks like Ronald. Only this Ronald has missile launchers mounted on his shoulders. Out of sheer desperation, I toss my eReader open to Echo toward the guy, replete with cyborg ninjas, quantum tech, and zen themes. He reads it and one tear trails down his face. Drops to his knees and stoically commits seppuku.
