Echo: The Weekly Update

Vol. 3 Word Count:  34,915.  Thanks to All Who Bought Echo!  And BIG THANKS to Melissa, Barbara, Ian, Lorna, [anonymous], Lisa, Meg, Matt, Bobby, F.T., Alice Smith, Vikki Goldberg, Leslie Coop and Richard for posting AMAZING reviews on Amazon!!!  Ashley too for the 5 star on Nook!

News:  About 100 pages in and I’m getting ready to write Verus’s first scene of extended butt-kicking (she had kind of a small one earlier but it was over in less than a page).  I’m looking forward to it!  Volume 3 is morphing into a reset from all the future weaponry and a rebuild of the story towards a more astral-combat type of setting.  The sci-fi stuff is still there but now it will be mixed with magical craziness.  Some times I geek out over the stuff in my head; now the challenge remains to see if I can translate it cleanly to the page!

On a more mundane note I had written an extended chapter with Verus that came close to 11k words, which made me nervous, as I like to keep chapters around 3k.  I poked around the internet, and saw that some established authors had close to 10k averages for chapters, but nevertheless, I broke my monster-chapter into two pieces so that it would be easier to digest.

Okay, I think that’s it!  Off to the gym, then back to work!  If you’re a writer, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing!
