Echo and Kor’Thank: The Weekly Update

Kor’Thank word count:Β  14,555

Thanks to All Who Bought Echo! Β And BIG THANKS to those who posted positive reviews on Amazon or Goodreads!!!

News:Β  Alright, I’m still chipping away at Kor’Thank 250 words a day, but I’m also looking over a chapter a day and editing, which is the reason behind the paltry 396 word increase from last week, when it should be 1250 words bigger, if I didn’t edit at all.

As far as Echo 4 goes:Β  right now I’m shifting into what I call “Deep Edit.”Β  That means I’m not really concerned with slash and burn, so much as really looking into what each sentence is saying, if I’ve said it as best I know how, and if it flows into the next sentence as best as it possibly can.Β  The slash and burn is necessary to clear away a lot of fluff so I can quickly perceive the general shape (pace and flow) of the narrative, and now it’s really time to start hammering away.Β  I’ve never made a sword, but I guess this would be the point where it’s starting to look like a weapon, and I’m flattening it out and giving it an edge.

The proof copy of Echo volumes 1 and 2 is on its way, and I’m waiting for a bigger dimension pic from my artist to throw up there and see if that’ll reduce the price AND still look good as a physical book.Β  If that’s possible, then I’ll use the bigger dimensions so I can reduce the page count and thus the price.

That’s it for now!Β  If you’re a writer, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing!

  1. Bless. I am learning from your expertise and your blogs. Hopefully, I will soon progress from the ‘amateur’ writer to an author.
Just reading Echo now and will write a review.

    1. Thank You Dann! I hope Echo didn’t grate on your brain too much, as it’s my first bumbling attempt at fiction, LOL!

      1. Suh-WEEEET! Hopefully the nonstop action in Echo 2 doesn’t turn you off and you can make it to Echo 3β€”that’s where I finally got good enough to put all the cool setting pieces I’d originally envisioned into the narrative. πŸ˜€
