If you are unwilling to revise/change your beliefs, then the truth will pass you by.  

For the truth is that things are always changing.

  1. I think there are some things that are constant, but I would concede that our perceptions of these constants are subject to change as we learn, grow and evolve. An unwillingness to accept truth in and of itself is an injustice to yourself and loved ones.

    • I’m not so sure…if you look back thousands or even hundreds of years ago, people took part in practices that would get you locked up for life today. I think in the span of infinity, all things end up changing. I think there are a handful of things that are constant…but pretty unprovable through science, so I just have faith that they are.

  3. I’ve come to realise that my truth is very different to other people’s truth, and my truth changes depending on my state of mind. Before I went into hospital I wasn’t really seeing the world. Now I have come out I am looking at the world with new eyes!

    • That’s awesome! That’s a key realization in dealing with people ‘cos instead of forcing personal views on them, there is an underlying knowledge that they have been shaped uniquely and aren’t willfully just trying to obstruct you

According to the Law of Energy, “nothing is created or destroyed but changes” from one chemical composition to another (i.e. wood into ash) and yet the Law of Energy, itself remains unchanged in a self-sustaining principle. Neither created by humanity, nor can it be destroyed but an unchanging truth that governs our physical existence whether one chooses to believe in it or not. But, I don’t believe the key to accepting truth is by insisting that others change or revise their thinking. Rather, with mutual respect, the truth will prevail itself.

    • I agree on not imposing one’s belief on others unless it is a matter of immediate practicality (some people are raised to believe that it is well within their rights to harm others) but I’m reserving judgment on the law of energy. From what I understand—and I’m really open to correction on this as I’m no scientist—after the Big Bang, if the level of energy had remained perfectly constant, then matter would never have cooled into separate pieces. It would have retained enough heat to be in a constant state of flux, switching from energy to matter in the blink of an eye. There are theories that some of it leaked into other dimensions and whatnot…but I don’t know. There’s a certain point in time past the initial creation of this Universe where scientists are speculating on events; they don’t know if there even was a Big Bang. That’s all from my hazy memory of an Astronomy class so I don’t really know.

      • I didn’t mean to engage a discussion on scientific theory only to present an analogy on the matter of truth. That what is true does not need anyone to represent it, it will represent itself. Like Galileo who announced his heliocentric theories, that the earth revolves around the sun, and the RC Church “recommended” he change or revise his thinking. And though he was forced to recant, the truth of Galileo’s discovery, per se, could not be denied. Truth is the unavoidable causation that will occur whether we chose to believe in it or not. I agree with you that there are people who are like the 17th century RC Church (I am Catholic) who insist ‘their’ truth be accepted. And sometimes it is hard to tell what truth really is. In those moments, I yield to a quote from a great hero of mine who so eloquently put to song Mathew 7:3, “I am starting with the man in the mirror, I’m asking him to change his ways, and no message could’ve been any clearer, if you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make that change.” In short, if we observe a issue that needs to change, we must stop trying to make others change, we should just change our self and by that example of mutual respect the truth will prevail.

      • I’m pretty sure that if we aren’t saying the same thing in different words, we will end up doing so, haha! I’m still not sure about the nature of truth and what we should do…I’m recently becoming more and more amazed that atoms decided to configure into black holes, people, buffalo wild wings, and all everything in between. I’m not really sure what we should do anymore, only that the pattern of multiple orbits around a nucleus seems to repeat itself throughout all of existence. I’m not sure what else is concrete though. Hell, even that might not be
