Kor’Thank word count: 16,654 Echo Vol.4, after my third pass: 189,373 (Woohoo! Got it under 200k!)
Thanks to All Who Bought Echo! And BIG THANKS to those who posted positive reviews on Amazon or Goodreads!!!
News: So I got the formatting right (I think! Fingers crossed!) for the paperback of Echo 1 & 2, combined edition. Obviously, I wanted the page numbers to start on page 1 of chapter 1, then continue to the end of Echo 1, disappear for the first afterword/about the author/etc., then continue again on page 1 of chapter 1 in Echo 2. The reasoning unique page numbers all throughout is so that in the confusing mess of two combined volumes, a reader could go to a specific page number within the manuscript and know exactly where he/she was at; if I had duplicate page numbers for Echo 1 AND Echo 2, then there might be confusion as to whether a reader was on page 50 of Echo 1 or page 50 of Echo 2. I know common sense would mostly negate that, but I like to be precise about these things.
Hand in hand with that is the need for a newly sized cover, which I’m currently waiting on. Apparently, every time you alter the page count in your manuscript, you also alter the length of the cover, as you need a differently sized cover to wrap around different page amounts. Yep, it’s as much of a pain in the ass as it sounds like, but I’m glad to have finally figured it all out (I hope!).
Echo 4 is coming along; I’m currently on my fourth pass-through. Kor’Thank is chugging along at 250 words a day. I have a relative visiting for 9 days, so I may miss a few posts or responses here or there, but I’ll do my best to keep up. Mid-terms are rearing their ugly heads, so I gotta attend to those as well. That’s life! If it wasn’t challenging, it’d be boring as hell. Anyways, I gotta get back to work! To all you writers, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing!!! 🙂 🙂 😀
