Echo: Thank You Recent Purchaser!

And it’s up and at ’em!  Drafting to do, and early bird gets the worm and all!  First though, Big Thank You to whoever bought a copy of Echo Vol. 1 yesterday.  From here on out, I will keep thank yous for sales to one a day.  I think the thank you for every sale was annoying people as I saw wordpress followers start to unfollow.  Anyways,  Thank You Recent Purchaser! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  1. I cannot emphasize this enough: go to kboards.com and click on the Writer’s Cafe. Spend a day or so reading threads about covers, pitches, and marketing. Really.

      1. Let’s just say that a lot of successful indie authors are very free with telling others how they got to the point where they’re selling books. Unless you have that experience already, it’s hard to know what is really important when it comes to selling books. It really opened my eyes when I found that site.

    Thinking we all wanted love and gratitude. I suffer from
    The opposite I realised I hadn’t said thank you to the readers and realised I do t have enough followers because of it. Rectified it for a little while but the Brit And cynic in me couldn’t keep it up.
    So you are damned if you do

  3. I don’t think the thanks were annoying, but I did see a lot of “musings” and I dealt with it by setting the email frequency to “weekly”.

    I don’t check online stuff with any real consistency, so don’t take my word as a sign of a trend, but I don’t think people unfollowed for the thanks flooding, but if there was a way to make a the high-volume posts opt-in then the average person might not have noticed any change and therefore not be annoyed.

    In any case, they are a zillion reasons why people can unfollow, and most aren’t personal, they are usu. people dealing with their own garbage. As you scale up, though, keeping two levels of persona might be helpful; I do it myself by having penpals and stuff only on livejournal or less widely known emails, and wordpress for the general public.

    I don’t yet have significant traffic, but if I ever need some time off, it is simple enough to ignore the blog for a few days whilst still keeping in touch with closer (emotionally) long-distance pals.
