There are few things more rewarding to me than knowing in my heart that I did my best, and that I did everything I could with what I had.
Ironically, I find that when I do this, I’m not focusing on the reward at all; I’m too busy trying to do my best.
Great philosophy to follow.

Ain’t it funny? The satisfaction that comes from doing your best and knowing you did is humbling and rewarding. Being rewarded for the work is good, too, but while still appreciated, it’s no longer the major source of the satisfaction.

Indeed! If you’re living in a system that hasn’t been significantly corrupted, over time, I find that good work does tend to come with material reward. The key is to be honest about whether the system is still workable…
