IMHO, the point of tradition is to create a roughshod path that eases the way so that travelers can see where NEW paths can be paved…it is NOT meant to be evoke blind adherence/veneration.  If that is ever the case, then tradition no longer facilitates discovery…

Because it has turned from a path into a cage.

    Went to see a Picasso exhibit. Never really knew the guy could paint a “traditional” painting. There was an 8-foot tall portrait of his wife, classically done, beautiful. The back story was that she told him yes, he could paint her portrait, but there would be hell to pay is she couldn’t recognize herself. There will always be those times when the rules matter, and times to bend them to your will.
