I’ve wandered into a convention for open-letter enthusiasts. They’re laugh-snorting, calling themselves “total badasses,” and patting each other on the back for broadcasting their unedited thought-vomit. One of them shoves my shoulder. “Have you written one? Huh? DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE?” They gather around me and start shouting at me, denouncing me for a coward. Rocks fly at me and I cover my face. I barely avoid a spinning dagger. Holy Balls! I open my eReader to Echo. Magic flash. My right hand glows with crackling blue. I turn toward the crowd and they step back in fear as they see my lightning-wreathed eyes. I grin and whisper, “Write about this.” I grab my right wrist with my left hand, then lunge forward and flip them off with my glowing right middle finger. A wave of concussive force jets outward from it, ruffling my hair back, and sends them flying like a bowling ball crashing into a set of tenpins. I send more chi-blasts from my middle finger. They make their escape, quacking and crying.
Middle-finger chi-blasts. One day, it will happen. Get Echo Vol. 1 on Kindle here: Vol. 1 on Kindle. Vol. 2 on Kindle here: Vol.2 on Kindle. Links for Vol.1 AND Vol.2 on Smashwords/Nook/iBooks/Kobo are available here: Echo on other platforms
