Echo-A Dystopian Science Fiction Novel

I’m walking my 10 lb terrier BiteFighter through the sun-kissed park, enjoying the chirp of the birds, and the fresh smell of dew.  I smile as four kids run up to BiteFighter, expecting they’ll want to pet him and play with him.  Suddenly they’re pulling his tail and slapping him, causing him to yelp and growl.  “HEY!”  I shout as I run over.  “What the hell do you think you’re—”  One of the kids says to me, “Keep your mouth shut old man.  Cops are right there,” he nods to a pair of off-duty officers.  “Who are they gonna believe?” he askswhile flashing a demonic grin.  I open my eReader to Echo.  Magic flash.  A rage-filled ten-year-old Bruce Wayne appears on my peripherals.  He darts over in a crouch and smashes one of the punks in the nuts.  The other three turn on him and he uses the first one to block their strikes, then shoves his impromptu shield toward them, causing them all to stagger back.  A quick flick of his wrists and pencils fly out of his fingers, thunking into their hands and thighs, causing their eyes to go wide.  All of them flee, screaming in pain.  He gives me a sullen nod, bends down to pet BiteFighter, then disappears into the shadows.

Admit it.  Some of those little ingrates deserve a bit of badass baby Bruce.  Get Echo Vol. 1 on Kindle here:  Vol. 1 on Kindle.  Vol. 2 on Kindle here:  Vol.2 on Kindle. Links for Vol.2 on Smashwords/Nook/iBooks/Kobo are available here:  Echo on other platform
