Echo-A Dystopian Science Fiction Novel

I’m shopping at Whole Foods when some crystal-encrusted New Ager with a weird-ass ring on every finger gives me the tsk tsk. ย I lift an eyebrow in a wordless question. ย “Your aura,” she explains to me, “is totally unstructured and spotted with black. ย You need a cleansing.” ย I look to my left and to my right, incredulous that the people around me aren’t dying in hilarity. ย I shrug and open my eReader to Echo. ย Magic flash. ย Strains of metal rip through the airโ€”menemeneMEH, menemeneMEHโ€”and tiny goblin-men assault the New Ager’s shopping cart, scarfing down granola and patchouli. ย One of them swings from her crystal necklace like tarzan and jams a miniature arm up her nose. ย She runs off screaming in horror.

Metal against crystals? ย Metal wins every time. ย Get Echo Vol. 1 on Kindle here: ย Vol. 1 on Kindle. ย Vol. 2 on Kindle here: ย Vol.2 on Kindle.

  1. This begs the question, WTH are you doing at Whole Foods?! Funny. Despite my disparaging remark yesterday on my blog about the genre in general, I like your writing because you have a great sense of humour about it. And, the hero always wins in funny ways.

    1. Haha Thanks! And Whole Foods, like spirituality, has great substance. But Whole Foods, again like spirituality, is populated by Annoying People!

  2. I actually laughed out loud at this line. Nice. “One of them swings from her crystal necklace like tarzan and jams a miniature arm up her nose.”

I found saying to any folk who wish to impose beliefs on me “Thank you but I am a convert to Roman Catholicism. I wish you well,” confuses them into silence or (if they’ve read ‘Da Da Vinci Code’) backing off nervously

    1. Hahaha! The backing off nervously seems like quite the enjoyable side-effect!
