Society whispers to us: “Stay within these gray, reputable walls. Forgo creativity and that deep, everlasting wisdom. Perpetuate, perpetuate, perpetuate.” But an ancient part of us responds. It says that for our brief stay on this spinning marble, that we are meant to be explorers; freed by discipline and audacity, subject to no snare of craving, or prison of tradition.
We are not meant to live with downcast eyes in fearful drudgery, but out in fresh air, with open-eyed wonder.
Very true. I have worked with people who are happy to stay in the same job year on year, miserable to their back teeth but not do anything about it. There is a whole world out there waiting to be explored, why stay at home and do nothing?

Exactly! Our lives were made to wind down for a reason! Explore while you can!

Beautifully put. I’ve never played in the playground of society and its rules.
The only thing is its
Not always fun not to have depend on ones’s own wrapped arms.

True! Balance must be struck, and immense strength and discrimination is required to know when to go one way or the other with no hesitation.

Completely agreed! I can’t stand the thought of sitting still and doing nothing. There is a lot I want to change in my life (including work) and I will make sure those changes are realised. We are no one’s slave in this life apart from to ourselves if we let it.

I needed this one. Will have to print and add it to my journal so I can read it repeatedly.
