First day of work-Boredom Inc.  Open the boss’s door.  Guy’s in a swivel chair, has his back to me.  Weird.  Asks me where I want to be in 5 years.  I tell him: CEO of my own company.  Slow, evil chuckles rise from him.  He turns in his chair.  One ugly mofo, and he’s stroking a desiccated, long-dead cat.  “Wrong,” he says.  “You work here.  Forever.”  My eReader, open to Echo, drops to the ground and flashes with magic.  Charged light streams from my eyes.  I punch through the ceiling and rocket into the sky.  A ring of visible pressure shoots out from me as I streak through the atmosphere.
