Be in charge of how you define adversity.  Did it happen for a reason?  Did it give you clues on what to do or where to go?  (Sometimes you just have to have faith that it did, and wait for present circumstances to articulate into a logical support for a past event.  The faith will hold you in a position of readiness, prepared to take action when the opportunity arises.)

Or did that same adversity crush and bury you?  Is it evidence of a random, uncaring universe where you can never get ahead?

There’s a good case to be made for either.  That’s one of the beauties of life—we get to decide.
