A blast of wind blows my hair back as I zip-line across a canyon deep in the Andes. On the orders of Daniel Radcliffe, I’ve just infiltrated a jungle pyramid to steal his spectacles back from a bevy of Harry Potter nerds. They’re hooting and hollering, pursuing me in Apache gunships (aren’t they supposed to be using brooms or something? WEAK.) The air crackles with foot-long rounds as three wasp-like helos cut loose with bright, arcing streams of destruction. A bullet cuts my line, and suddenly I’m falling, plunging to my death. Desperately, I fumble my eReader open to Echo. Magic flash. In my hand is a…Old West Peacemaker? WTF???? Then I see the ghost of Chuck Norris falling beside me. His slightly gross, hairy hand covers mine and he levels my gun. He speaks to me in the take-no-shit voice of Walker: “Steady…steady…NOW.” I squeeze the trigger, and my gun barks once. A single bullet slices through three helicopters, lighting the sky with bulging fireballs and smoking parabolas. As the ground rushes toward us, Chuck grabs me by the chest and begins roundhouse kicking the air below. As his leg becomes a vibrating blur, we slow to a gentle drift, then land softly on the ground.
Harry Potter nerds are as vicious as they come. Don’t get caught unawares when they try and send you screaming to your death in a forgotten stretch of jungle. Get Echo Vol. 1 on Kindle here: Vol. 1 on Kindle. Vol. 2 on Kindle here: Vol.2 on Kindle.
