I’m at Costco on a Sunday. My cart is getting rammed from the sides like Luke in Return of the Jedi when he’s on that badass speeder bike. I’m reaching for a box of keurig cups when a soccer mom rushes in, grabs it, and gives me the finger. I race towards a pack of bacon when my cart gets t-boned by a mom from the left and her partner swoops by and grabs it. They high-five and race away. Madness! To top it off, Flight of the Bumblee begins playing over the speakers. WHAT THE HELL! I open my eReader to Echo. Magic flash. A pair of gremlins appear in my cart and begin swiping the stuff I need from the carts of soccer moms. They’re yelling and pursuing me, and I start running my cart towards the furniture section. One of the gremlins yells, “Boss! The odds of navigating a furniture section at this speed are—” I cut him off: “Never tell me the odds!” I cut and weave through the latest offerings from Kirkland’s home furnishings, and leave a jumbled mess of vengeful soccer moms and overturned carts in my wake.
