Echo-A Dystopian Science Fiction Novel

I’m chilling at a diner, trying to read Echo, but some annoying infant’s scream is castrating the air, setting everybody on edge.  Even the parents look angry at the kid.  Suddenly a blue flash replete with Zen themes, quantum tech and cyborg ninjas leaps from my eReader and arrows at the kid, transforming it into an adorable puppy.  Everybody cheers.  Even the parents.
