Halloween.  I see a kid reading Echo when a bigger bully snatches his pumpkin candy bucket, taunting him.  A strange light jumps from the eReader into the kid’s arm.  Extends his hand and a blast of blue light shoots from it, destroying the bully’s candy bucket and knocking his own out of the little sh*t’s grasp.  Candy rains down like confetti.  Panicked eyes from the bully.

“Trick or treat, douche.”  The kid growls.  Bully runs.  Kid sees me gaping.  Says, “Magic of kaia, quantum tech, zen themes.  Read Echo.”  Smirks.  Gets his bucket. Walks away.
