Every day I walk past a boy being bullied.  One day I buy him a copy of Echo, trying to comfort him.  The next day, bullies are extorting him for lunch money.  He snorts, “I’ve learned the magic of kaia, quantum tech, and zen themes.  You think I’m giving you money?”

He continued in a throaty, smoky growl:  “Not a chance.”

His eyes glow blue.  The bullies panic as they involuntarily crap themselves.  The kid laughs harshly, “You guys need to get your sh*t together.”  Throws me a wink.
