Or I can react vindictively to adversity, cursing the world as an unfair construct.  But then my creativity will find a way to make it true.

All phenomena is information.  Especially the negative stuff.

As far as I can tell (contrary to what I used to believe) the information implies I should train myself to see the positive in everything, enjoy what I can, and accept the “bad” with grace and humor. 

This seems to make for better health and better outcomes.

We can view events in a positive or negative light, depending on the use of our imagination.  If we so choose, we can make our perception continually positive, continually open to opportunities and advantages.

Or we can see things as constantly negative, and remain completely blind to the treasures around us.

Respect is a fickle thing.  Even when most of society approves of my actions, there will always be someone who holds me in contempt.

Conversely, self-respect is of infinite value.  If I maintain my standards and keep my promises to myself, I can sleep soundly and enjoy the moment.

Ironically, when I find myself in this blessed mode, others tend to respect me more.

I believe in a natural benevolence underlying reality.  You can find evidence for or against it, depending on where you look, but I believe the strongest case for it arises when I give up and focus on something completely unimportant or—better yet—nothing at all.  In those moments of Void, something great and kind rises through me, and brings a smile to my face without my intending it.

In my opinion, age is no excuse to withdraw or turn meek. 

On the contrary, it’s a reason to become increasingly audacious and a lot more focused, because life has given me a better picture of what I want and how to get it.
