Be open, audacious, and easy.  Let unpleasant events serve and educate you.  Let them improve you.

Because otherwise, they’ll end up ruling you.  And they’ll do their best to grind you down.

  1. how odd. I was just thinking about something that happened today and it was making me think how useless I am as a person in this town, family, and life. How I’m not the person I’m expected to be and how I don’t fit. Even in my mid fifties I need to remember over and over how looking over the situation is more efficient than looking at it dead on. Dead on, it is terrifying and crippling, looking over it helps you see around and beyond and make better choices. I think I’ll finish baking cookies in a better frame of mind, Thanks, my dear!!!

    • Indeed! And if it feels like a massive, futile tug of war to get in a better mood, then it helps me to just sit with a negative emotion, not trying to solve it, explore it, or poke at it. I’ve done it enough to where I have faith (for me, anyway) that it will pass and open into a better feeling emotion. Maybe not straight to joy, but I can at least start working my way up the ladder.
