Learning to pick your battles and how to fight them (strategy) is almost as important as the consistent willingness to fight (discipline and aggression).
You need that willingness to show up on a regular basis and give it a good effort, to at least invite the possibility of a lucky victory. But strategy will maximize your chances of success, ensuring that you don’t just flail blindly away, and remain dependent on luck.

Learning to pick one’s battles insures more longevity with a career. We all need to learn not to sweat the tiny irritations of life.

Indeed! And it also makes us more effective in the short run. The only cost is our pride, which is an easy thing to offer up in the long run, and which gets taken away from us anyways.
