Ironically, in order to become a light unto others, it usually means that someone has to grapple with their own darkness.  They must first subdue it, then ally with it, and then integrate it.

The common fallacy is that one should always chase what is pleasant and enticing, but that’s really just catering to cravings and indulgence, and the artificial shine borne from cravings and indulgence is a decidedly shallow one.  Discipline and strategy may not be pleasant, but in the end, their light endures, and is echoed throughout eons, cultures, and parables.

    1. Hahaha! I do that too, I just try and use the “gift” of my humanity—long-term strategy—to enjoy the animal side of me as much as I can.😁
