Self-examination is usually hard. But more often than not, it’s utterly crucial.
I think that’s why it’s conflated with the hero’s journey in so many narratives.

I’m constantly examining myself and reconfiguring my ideas about my place in the world. I don’t find this hard at all. Although it is hard to remain objective, and also to share one’s subjective understanding with another person…mostly because they don’t care. Not in a bad way, just… they’re their own person who won’t see it the way you do. And thereby any idea of significance is not significant at all. Because simply, they just didn’t see it (at all, or just not in that way).

Nice. So am I, but when it comes to delving into higher levels of complexity and learning how to navigate them into positive outcomes, I find it requires more and more uncomfortable examination, in order to cut away my obsolete beliefs.
