Musings

Iโ€™ve tyrannized results out of myself, but the downside of this seems to be that when I experience failure, I keep pushing harder with the same methods, and the failures multiply.ย  Conversely, being too kind with myself leads to no effectiveness, and no results.ย  In order to avoid a methodological rut, my current approach is to assess and aggress, assess and aggress.ย  This approach’s sole aim is to solve problems.ย  It is not for idealists, or people wanting to flaunt their toughness.

  1. Unfortunately I’m an idealist. I have to stay true to my ideals.

  2. I’m like you, constantly assessing, balancing, and seeking balancing again, a perpetual quest to achieve while keeping ideals intact. It ain’t easy, brother.

  5. Its rather baffling, Kent, if I may call you Kent, that someone if your blogging stature would find, much less bother to look at, and then like a post in http://www.ADudeAbikes.com. funny, auto-correct out WWE. Anyway, how does one write and find time to engage yet pay the bills and say, eat food, drink water, sleep? Thanks so much.

    1. Honestly, I’m in school using my GI bill, so I treat writing like a job, basically. However, I’m ready to take the skills I learn during this time and apply them to a full-time schedule. While I may not be able to keep the same tempo, I do think I can keep the regularity. My philosophy is that in all creative projects, the first use of creativity is creatively finding ways to allot yourself time for your project.

  6. Well said. Hadn’t anticipated or understood the other side requiring time too. Will just do what I can; for me, writing comes first, marketing etc. is later. Hopefully I will get better at both. Thanks!
