Echo: The Weekly Update 6/26

Echo Vol. 3 Word Count:  61,230.  Amaze-Balls!  Over 2/3 done (I consider 90k to be my target).  Thanks to All Who Bought Echo!  And BIG THANKS to Melissa, Barbara, Ian, Lorna, [anonymous], Lisa, Meg, Matt, Bobby, F.T., Alice Smith, Leslie Coop, Richard, Shauna, Sydney and Pam for posting AMAZING reviews on Amazon!!!  Ashley too for the 5 star on Nook!

News:  Drafting is coming along!  This may be a bigger book than 90k (story-wise, I’m probably a little over halfway done and not 2/3 of the way done that the word count shows).  I know that some of you (Thank You So So Much for supporting me Barbara and terrifying me by notifying that you are waiting eagerly for Vol.3, hahaha!) are eager to read this book but I’m gonna have to go contrary to my instincts and make good and damn sure that this passes my standard!  I’m studying Stephen King’s Dark Tower and experimenting with where I can be a little more freewheeeling with my verse and where I can’t, so this is also an experiment for me as a writer as I try to take on new skills and capabilities.  Also—I realized it is F’ED UP that I release new volumes at $2.99 and then drop prices later because that means readers that have shown loyalty get the short end of the stick because they buy new volumes immediately!  So I’m planning to drop all prices to $0.99 for seven days after I release volume 3, then they go back to normal.  I’m still figuring this marketing thing out and yeah—it’s $2 and so what—but it’s not the money, it’s the message; I don’t want to communicate that I’m taking advantage of people who have shown me so much kindness.  The little gestures count, right?

Anyways, it’s time for me to hit the gym, and as always, if you are a writer, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing!!!
