Vol. 3 word count: 27,569 Thanks to All Who Bought Echo! And BIG THANKS to Melissa, Barbara, Ian, Lorna, [anonymous], Lisa, Meg, Matt, Bobby, F.T., Alice Smith and Vikki Goldberg for posting AMAZING reviews on Amazon!!! Ashley too for the 5 star on Nook! And Leslie Coop for the 5 stars on Goodreads!!!
News: Okay, the free promotion is almost over! As of right now, 377 copies of Echo Vol.1 have been downloaded for free! I’ve adjusted my thinking on marketing after observing Mr. Howey and Mr. Weir, two bastions of self-pub success. Instead of this tit-for-tat, miserly mentality of trying to max profits for each copy of Vol.1, I’m going to keep it at the lowest price possible (0.99) and give it away when there is a special event. Why worry about maximizing profits when my profits are a few dozen bucks here or there? I’m not some evil corporation, and I think that letting go of this one-for-one exchange mentality sends out good vibes to the universe. So for each Volume 1 of a series, that’s how it’s gonna go. If the reader likes Volume 1, then they are more than welcome to support my efforts by buying subsequent volumes, which as of now, I plan to keep at the $2.99 mark.
Here’s the catch: In order to do that, I gotta sell my volume 1s exclusively on Kindle Unlimited. Now I know that there are readers (Ashley and Hazel) that use Nook, so what I’m gonna do is publish volume 1s on Kindle and Smashwords/Nook/Ibook/Kobo/etc. for a few months (I’m thinking 3 months), affording any non-Kindle reader the chance to grab it, and then switch it over to Kindle Unlimited, thus giving me the ability to do free promos.
So now that I’m a bit buffer in the creative muscle department, I feel like I can consistently produce quality material in multi-volume sets, and perhaps this way, achieve my dream of not having to work a regular job, haha! My next series is tentatively titled The Unbound Realm, and I’m going to further push myself by intending it as a Young Adult Fantasy series. So for that one: little to no swearing, no in-depth descriptions of violence, and more emotion/wonder for storytelling seasoning. I think I can do it! The discipline lies in fleshing out Echo and smoothing it out for maximum entertainment while a piece of my mind is dancing in the universe of The Unbound Realm! It’s tough!
Okay, so I gotta lotta homework to do, and now that I’ve thrown in my 600 words and weekly update, time to do it! To all you writers, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
