Echo-A Dystopian Science Fiction Novel: News

Word Count, Vol. 2:  79,657

News:  Monday Update!  To all who bought Echo,  Thank You!  And an especially big Thank You to Melissa, Barbara, Ian, Lorna, [anonymous], Lisa, and Meg for posting amazing, AMAZING reviews on Amazon!!!  And also-I feel like a heel for not mentioning Ashley M. last time; she gave me an awesome review on Nook!  Thanks Ashley!  And Thank you ALL so much!

In the last week, I have drafted over 5k words, yet if you are tracking the word count, you can see my net word progress is a little under 2k for the week.  So I added 5k words, cut over 3k.  That’s editing for you.  Action is very heavy in this book, so repetition of words and description has to be kept to an absolute bare minimum (IMHO) to keep it from getting sloppy and waterlogged.  Yes, there is a good amount of dialogue and the action supports the underlying theme of the story and Atriya’s transformation, but still, my opinion is that if you’re constantly reading about stabbings and skulls getting blown open, variety and good description is key in what is essentially a pattern of repetitive events.

Release date?  Not this month.  I am in the final part of the final act, if that makes any sense, and I AM confident, however, that I can finish drafting by the end of this month.  However: Edit edit edit.  Editing never stops.  I’m aiming to finish editing and release it before March rolls around.  Sorry for my slowness!  Anyways, to all you writers, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing!
