While all approaches may be valid in the grander sense, it’s obvious that a specific approach may not be valid for a given individual. So for me, that leaves only one viable course of action.
Experiment, then figure it out for myself.

Life eats life. From animals to plants to microbes and so forth.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t be kind and considerate as we perpetuate this cycle.
IMHO, effectiveness is usually determined by the ability to switch from generalization to the nuanced and then back again…thus matching each context with a harmonized response.
It’s important to inject scalability and nuance into generalized philosophy. Tactics may not translate from 50 lb kid to 300 lb fighter, or from human to grizzly bear. This is not a call to be cynical, but a call to push awareness/creativity/exploration…
So that we can avoid the mire of staid thinking and create NEW responses for The Unscripted.
Epigenetics and behavioral manipulation through the environment don’t disprove the premise of free will, (which IMHO is essential to embrace), but I do believe that they imply we should be compassionate in our regard for others…
Because the bottom line is that we’re still trying to discover what makes us tick.
I’m beginning to suspect that the existence of quantum paradox DOES translate to our world, and that the mind can remain functional while embracing opposing perspectives.
IMHO, however, too many stop at the “Woo-woo” level; I believe it prudent to go further—to delve into practical application, and accordingly, be able to switch between mindsets.
I believe this ability can weaponize entire philosophies.
[draft/practice/drill/train] as much as possible without breaking yourself…steadily increasing capacity…and then improvise.
And then, you’ll access that timeless thing referred to by countless names.
I think positively because I want the proven benefit of a placebo effect. I think negatively in order to cut ruthlessly into outdated mechanisms. Whichever way I choose, I try to explore, test, and honor that time-honored maxim:
“Do what works for you.”
We’re all built differently, right? So whether your approach to the world is negative, positive, abrasive, etc…
At least make it effective.
Most efforts are doomed to failure. So to mitigate the odds, I try and constantly apply myself. Along the way, I’ve found that the only way to stave off the depression of not having “made it” is to DO SOMETHING about it. Yes, I’ll probably fail, but every day, I go to bed knowing that I took a stand.
Don’t know about you, but that makes my sleep pretty damn sweet. 🙂
