New Man Child Monday T-Shirt Sketch!

Okay, so my illustrator Pope Love and I have ventured forth into the creative wilds and decided that this would be a better premise for our first T-shirt:  Man Child and his extradimensional sidekick Bitefighter chillin’ together while Man Child draws an overly exaggerated too-manly version of himself (or perhaps we’ll put some kind of text-based punch-line in the notepad; we’ll see).  We feel that this captures the endearing goofiness that Man Child should convey (better than the T-rex headkick anyway).  Tell us what you think!  Opinions are not just welcomed, but encouraged!  🙂 🙂 🙂

Man Child T-Shirt Update

So this is the refined version of what my illustrator Pope Love came up with.  After an in-depth discussion, we decided not to go with it and I’ll tell you why:  It’s what I term “memetically unsound.”  (I know that I made that up and I’ll explain).

My theory is that my products (and he shares this view) should use the different elements contained within them to carry the themes through.  When this is done right, it increases the quality of the meme (a concept that spreads among humans, is how I’m using the word).  The themes of Man Child are goofy, sweet endearingness—the high fashion aesthetic doesn’t carry those concepts forward at all; they only provide a momentarily interesting dichotomy between low-brow humor and the surrounding visual.  So yeah, maybe we’ll use this in the future, but what we really want to do is capture the spirit of Man Child in an appealing a style as possible.  Basically, we feel like we could do better.

Currently, we’re working on another image, which I will post as soon as there’s a rough.  Thank you all for your time and interest!  The Adventure continues!  😀

Looking for opinions on this potential T-Shirt art…

I need some opinions!  Ok so my illustrator Pope Love touched up the rough of our first potential Man Child Mondays T-Shirt.  His underlying theme was classy fashion meets lowbrow humor.  There were two things I asked him to fix:  1.  Either elongate that middle line between “Man” and “Child” or take it out altogether because it looks like an “I,” and 2.  Make the speed lines flowing off Man Child’s head more recognizable (I couldn’t tell whether they might be a cape or a stream of energy when I first saw this).

Now looking at other T-shirt prices, it seems $25 is the norm.  HOWEVER, Pope Love and I would like to not only make our love and humor as accessible as possible (wut up Siddhartha Gautama; he who deigned to speak in the “low tongue” to spread his message), we’d also like to try and demonstrate detachment from the “Gollum mentality” and try to push prices down (not judging others for their pricing methods; it’s just that we don’t need to stake our livelihoods on this thing).  We’re pretty sure we can do it for under $20, but we’re really aiming for under $15 or possibly even under $10 while preventing the shirt from being one a’ those piece o’ shite shirts that fade after a handful of washes, stretch unrecognizably long, or have the black colored section start crackling and/or running.  Oh—he’s also gonna try to insert some hashtags in there (#ManChildMondays #AlwaysProcrasturbating #LifeLongReprobate) as long as they remain classy-looking and don’t draw the eye from the centerpiece.

I am eager to hear your opinions!  Not asking for a committed pre-sale, but I’d like honest input on whether any of you wonderful folks might buy a shirt with this illustration on a day when you weren’t out of sorts!  Please let us know! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Man Child Mondays #7

How to sleep if you’re a true Man Child:  Always flexed, always armed.  Flexed in case I need to impress any hot soccer moms that bust in on me and interrupt my snooze with a torrid makeout session, and armed in case I’m attacked by zombies, honey badgers, or Hordak.

…I know:  I should be writing.

Man Child Monday #6

In order to attain these three magic elixirs, your favorite author (and perennial Man Child) Kent Wayne had to defeat a bridge troll, a lich king named Cynosure, and a pack of rabid Leoptrixes.

….not really.  I know:  I should be writing.
