Writing fiction can be incredibly empowering.  It encourages you to examine human nature, and tease out how to bring relevance to your communication.  It encourages you to examine the rhythm and beats of your delivery, to enhance resonance and make your case.  It encourages you to try and be as truthful with yourself as possible, so you can wrap that scalding truth in a soothing lie, and when you present it to others, it will warm them instead of burn them.  It encourages you to speak and communicate in an archetypal manner, so you do not interact with a surface facade, but with a deep, abiding core that connects us all.
