Musings

The end can come at any moment.

That being the case, I advocate being brutally honest with oneself (so you know where you are in relation to your aims, and can consequently chart a realistic course), move with a purpose, and have as much fun as possible along the way.

  2. Now that I’m in my late 40s – and have come to terms with the fact that I likely have less life ahead of me than I do behind, I now work to remain in a state where I have no regrets and am relatively content. That way if the end does come sooner than later, I can face it feeling like I’ve, at least, done what I’ve needed to achieve some level of contentment. Obviously, contentment is a moving target with humans. So, it’s about being honest with myself enough to understand what contentment means to me each day and achieving just that. The fun – for me, at least – is a side effect of that process.

  5. Well said! Don’t fear Death, for it is inevitable. Instead, live a story that will make Death itself want to sit down and listen. And perhaps laugh its boney behind.
