Musings

Like most of you, I’ve got some monsters living in my head.ย  Instead of ignoring them, I acknowledge them, respect them, and put them to work so they can help me out instead of drag me down.

  1. The monsters living in my head are the basis for my college degree and future writing career.

    1. They’re not necessarily a bad thing, right?
Both you and I, and nearly every comedian/writer/artist out there house a decent helping of head monsters. ๐Ÿ™‚

The perils of having a creative mind… Makes me feel better knowing I’m not the only one! Thank you, thank you!

    1. The perils of having a mind, period! I’d go so far as to say that Jung had it right when he urged everyone to confront “the shadow” and experience a transcendent wholeness by examining both light and dark. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, he said enlightenment isn’t all butterflies and rainbows, it’s about making the darkness conscious. Something like that. Thanks for encouraging us to be brave.

      2. No problem! I just see it as practical in the endโ€”honestly I’d rather not be brave, but in the long run, it seems some bravery is required to make things, ironically, as easy as possible given the passage of time.

listen to Beethoven for company, Kent, his last piano sonata, opus 111, or his 14th String Quartet, opus 131, quite specifically, you’re not in bad company – cheers, R ! chard

    1. Thanks for the recommendations! My mom made me play a lot of classical piano as a kid, so unfortunately, my tastes are a bit tainted. The only classical song I still really enjoy is Pachelbel’s Canon in D and its many variations, haha!

  7. You are following many a famous soul. I don’t think a person can adequately share life unless you live in it and are a home for things that should live under your bed and not your head. OK, then there are those women like Emily Dickinson and the Bronte sisters….
