The cool thing about accepting my negative feelings—telling myself it’s fine to feel that way—is that my focus shifts from negativity to acceptance. Then I can reach for positivity.

Indeed. Being in Denial clouds everything, stifles Creativity.
We are all jerks from time to time…looking in the mirror and saying ‘Well. That could have gone better. Couldn’t it?’ is liberating.
I try to practice accepting my feelings, but it’s not easy. Good for you! That’s a very eastern philosophy isn’t it? Here in the west, we shove those feelings down however we can!
So true. Denying and pushing away negative feelings only makes them stronger. Turning inward to those feelings and asking, “why am I feeling this negativity?” is the way to minimize and move through. That is what I have I have to do to get through the negative tornado that torments me on a regular basis.
Yes! I used to only get rid of negativity after fighting it and becoming exhausted. I just got lazy after awhile, lol.

Thanks for sharing your musings! I do something similar to you. I tell myself to embrace the futility or accept the inevitable, and then I end up feeling better as I let go of things beyond my control (or at least try to).
I do that as well! It definitely works better when I’m on the more negative end of things, but I gotta ease off the futility when I start vibing positive.
