From what I understand, knowledge can come from the vile and the holy, from the ugly and the beautiful. Even if it’s “evil,” it can be used defensively, as a shield against those with malicious intentions.
Another way to say it would be: I’m pretty sure that knowledge doesn’t have cooties.
Knowledge is power and power corrupts. Corruption is evil. And therefore, knowledge has all the cooties.
The only way to allow knowledge to not become evil is to die with knowledge early enough to be considered the hero. Otherwise you tend to live long enough to become the villain. Since time plus power(knowledge) equals corruption, knowledge has, all the cooties.
I don’t know where I’m going with this. I just wanted to use the movie reference.
It is also 12:20AM and I think I just need to pass out, but I made the mistake of reading one of your musings and it always makes the thinky-juice flow! LOL.
Hahaha! I’d say there’s an inevitability in that assertion, which I don’t agree with. (I think inevitabilities fall under the “slippery slope fallacy”). I’d say SOME knowledge increases the possibility of corruption, but I suspect that the pursuit of all knowledge would mitigate that, as I suspect that the pursuit of all knowledge would eventually reveal that corruption is untenable in the long run. 🙂
I just wrote out about a thousand words having a conversation with myself, both making points and killing them.
It came down to balance really. Balance in all things. Balance and collective. Balance of knowledge, but making sure it is a collective with the knowledge, such as humanity, rather then one person or entity representing a small group of people alone.

Indeed, although I like to caution people that the word “balance” doesn’t mean avoiding extremes. To me, it means always seeking a position of strength and capability, because sometimes, you need to be extreme in order to attain those qualities. Most often times, however, it seems to refer to some kind of harmony-infused position of readiness.
