Musings

“How do I say the same truths that’ve been said over and over, and imbue them with a charge of magnetic resonance?Β  How do I embody these truths, so when they spill from my lips, they don’t come across as empty platitudes?” Β

β€”age-old questions faced by all storytellers.

  1. What makes classic truths sound new again is that you say them with your own unique voice, which has never existed before across the span of human history, and when you depart, will ever exist again.

    1. I hope so! But if existence is truly infinite, then at some point, all will be repeated exactly as it was before, in some other universe, in some other when. Boggles my mind to think about it.

      1. You solved your own problem of the infinite. The repetition will be β€œin some other universe, in some other when.” All that came before will have been brought from the ether to exist, die, decay, and return to the un-existed. All you do will be new again. Congratulations!

  3. Perhaps that is how it is meant to be, that every priceless truth finds different voices at different times, uttered with a unique tone and character, that gives it more meaning.

    1. I think you’re right! Otherwise we’d just repeat the same stuff over and over again and never have to translate it or update it.
