I freely admit that I love to dominate challenges, be strong, and get things done.

The reason I strive to keep it from outwardly showing is that in my experience, the most dominant, strong, and accomplished people are also the most humble; they’re the first ones to admit they’ve screwed up, the first ones to figure out why, and the first ones to DO something about it.

  3. I agree with you, and could sum it up in three characteristics: courage, convictions and confidence. And sometimes, a little charisma.

    1. Courage to try, the convictions to keep trying (or the conviction to know when to adjust approach), and the confidence that you’ve given it your best…I think. That’s how I’d phrase it, anyhoo. 🙂

    1. Indeed! I believe a component of intelligence is being able to recognize errors, and then formulate a sound strategy to address them. So humility would tie into that I would think: being humble means being willing to recognize errors in myself.

    1. I like me, but I strive to make sure that I continue gaining my own respect and affection through my actions.

that’s quick, Kent, pungent, and I think, the operative directive here is “continue gaining my own respect and affection through my actions”, never stop refining yourself, you never have all the answers, not even close, but you’ll always have your devotion, for better or for worse – cheers, R ! chard
