   Don’t forget ‘circumvent’. Sometimes the best thing to do is work around the adverse environment. With that said, however, your point about learning something might have more value…

      Agree. I think it boils down to strategy—is the current struggle crucial to the war, or is it a minor battle? Keeps things clear for me.
