The Earth will recover from our abuse. There have been eras where the atmosphere was on fire and the air was poison. Even our long lasting synthetics can’t withstand entropy or the nuclear heat of the cosmos. With time, the effect of our abuse will fade.
The significance of our abusive acts is that they are a reflection of our own state of mind. With the Earth, we show ourselves to behave in an unfitting and childish manner.
