Dirty Sci-Fi Buddha is the website for me: author Kent Wayne. The site name comes from the subject material in my early pieces of writing.
Three works are featured. The first one is a series called Echo, a science fiction dystopia where a disillusioned warrior pushes his craft to its bloody limits, then attempts to break through into a realm of world-bending mastery. I’ve finished this four-volume series, and I’ve also posted some free sample chapters, click here to start reading.
To buy Echo Volume 1: Approaching Shatter on Amazon click here: Buy Echo
The second book is a high school adventure, full of profanity, psychedelics, and interdimensional shenanigans. Here’s the link for the book on Amazon: Kor’Thank: Barbarian Valley Girl. Sample chapters are available here: Sample Chapters for Kor’Thank: Barbarian Valley Girl
I’m working on a YA fantasy called the Unbound Realm, a three-volume series. I’ve finished books one and two, and I’m working on the third. Here’s a link to volume 1: A Door into Evermoor and here’s a link to volume 2: Weapons of Old Here are some sample chapters: Sample Chapters for the Unbound Realm.
Thanks for your interest! If you’re a writer, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing! Best way to reach me is by DMing me on Facebook. However, I have noticed some DMs getting filtered out by Facebook messenger, so if I don’t respond, just comment on my wall. I’ll take it down, DM you, and address your concerns. I may have missed something but are you a first time author? If so, this writing is descriptive and compelling. I don’t usually read sci-fi genre but after an initial scan of Chapter One I find myself drawn to reading on.

Yes! First time author. Well, I wrote a really horrible book called the Filthy 108 which is also available. Basically 108 essays on spirituality infused with stupid and dirty humor and a minimum of story. But yup, Echo is my first attempt at fiction. Thank you for the kind words! 🙂

It’s what I call the “3rd tier” of writing (Yep, made it up myself) 1st tier is amusing yourself, 2nd tier is making yourself understood (this is what we’re taught), 3rd tier is making yourself AND entertaining others. Just my humble opinion.

I like the tier theory! Bouncing as I do amongst them with ever increasing rapidity..landing on my head during the making myself understood parts…..

Editing endlessly will fix that. Unfortunately, nothing fixes the tedium of endless editing… 🙂

The nice thing about that, though? Sometimes I forget what I thought at the beginning and it’s like a whole new thing. That generally gets tossed……

Hey, thanks for following my Burntown web serial =) The story itself is actually a bit old and disjointed and eventually bounces from post-apocalyptic to deep space and time travel sci-fi. I have to get back to writing it again but I decided to post what I have so far.
I’ll definitely be sure to check out your work now!
If you’d like, I also have another serial I recently started called “Adventures in Viktorium” you should check out, which is a steampunk dystopia set in the 1920s in somewhat of an alternate dimension between life and death. Reincarnation is viewed from a scientific perspective, as are ghosts. I feel it’s one of my better ideas, as well as being better-written, though I need to split the posts up a bit more; not many people are keen on reading 6,000 word entries lol.

Well, you gotta let it go, man. If you wrote it and feel good about it, assume someone else should too. What I’ve read so far has my mind engaged, so that’s a good thing. Noticed a few typos, but they are few and far between, so it’s not kicking me out of the story trying to edit it in my head. Lol! That’s the biggest problem I have as a reader. I’ve worked so long in the business world editing other people’s copy that I can’t seem to stay in a story that is riddled with grammatical errors. But, like I said, so far, so good.

Haha! Thanks! Converting from school-forged essay writer into someone who plays with sentence fragments, judicious use of adverbs, sentence initiation with all the no-nos (and/but/because) was tough! I’ll take your compliment gladly! 🙂
