About

Dirty Sci-Fi Buddha is the website for me:  author Kent Wayne.  The site name comes from the subject material in my early pieces of writing.

Three works are featured.  The first one is a series called Echo, a science fiction dystopia where a disillusioned warrior pushes his craft to its bloody limits, then attempts to break through into a realm of world-bending mastery.  I’ve finished this four-volume series, and I’ve also posted some free sample chapters, click here to start reading.

The second book is a high school adventure, full of profanity, psychedelics, and interdimensional shenanigans.  Here’s the link for the book on Amazon:  Kor’Thank:  Barbarian Valley Girl.   Sample chapters are available here:  Sample Chapters for Kor’Thank:  Barbarian Valley Girl

I’m working on a YA fantasy called the Unbound Realm, a three-volume series.  I’ve finished books one and two, and I’m working on the third.  Here’s a link to volume 1:  A Door into Evermoor  and here’s a link to volume 2:  Weapons of Old  Here are some sample chapters:  Sample Chapters for the Unbound Realm.

Thanks for your interest!  If you’re a writer, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing!  Best way to reach me is by DMing me on Facebook.  However, I have noticed some DMs getting filtered out by Facebook messenger, so if I don’t respond, just comment on my wall.  I’ll take it down, DM you, and address your concerns.  Sorry to all those who never got a response; I wasn’t trying to be rude!  🙂

  2. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal.
I must say that you’ve done a awesome job with this.
Also, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Opera.
    Outstanding Blog!

  3. Hi Kent, and thank you for following me and Millie. ‘The Filthy 108’ is an interesting and amusing concept. So many people on a spiritual path lose their sense of humour somewhere along the way. I’m all for divine comedy, and I suspect the gods are, too. 😀

  4. I am extremely impressed with your writing skills as well
as with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself?
Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare
to see a nice blog like this one nowadays.

  6. Thanks for following, Kent. Looks like you’ve been up to some fun stuff too. Very cool! (love the art and am looking forward to checking out your books). My first one was released recently and I’m hard at work on the second, with many others piling up waiting their turn to be finished/polished, etc. Now to go poking around your blog some more. Cheers!

    • No worries…I’m all about the story, not the outer aesthetic. IMHO the complete writer should be able to write all genres by grasping the core themes of story as well as a deep understanding of human nature.

  7. Thank you for following. I was really surprised to find out it was ‘the’ Kent Wayne. I had seen Echo at amazon while browsing among fictions and I liked its story even if i didn’t buy it.

I am a huge SF fan plus a budding writer and would really appreciate a review of a pro at my blog, of ofourse only if you liked it.
    Thanks again for following.

  8. can’t wait to spend more time on your blog. Thanks for checking into my poem and commenting on it. Your sci-fi work sounds fascinating, I will definitely get to it. I too am an eclectic writer…in order to write all of the things I need to finish/publish/create….I’ll have to live another 47 years by my reckoning. That will make me…uh…128. wish me luck on that one.

  10. Hi, Kent. Thanks for the follow. By reading around your site, I’d say you appear to be a writer who thinks about tough questions, like ideas that don’t quite satisfy. That makes you a standout. And though I may not be part of your genre’s target audience, I wanted to pass along to you this post I read on finding an author community: http://buildbookbuzz.com/author-community/ It’s just a little gift to say, again, thanks!

  12. Thanks for the follow. What an eclectic writer and thinker you are. just tried your Buddhist philosophy because I’ve recently found a Tai Chi group again—the practice renews me. Otherwise, I’m a storytelling late-blooming writer, (will soon publish my first book at 82.)

  13. Well it’s a unique genre you’ve created, Wayne! Very interesting and definitely a blog worth keeping up with!

Thank you for stopping by The Old Fossil Writes and following…compared to yours, mine seems mighty plain!

    Best of everything to you!

  14. Hi, I’ll get straight to the point, would you like a collaboration with me for some illustrations for your posts? I do fiction related stuff and I’d love to relate those to a clear content 🙂

    • Sorry, I’m just a poor military vet/college student and couldn’t afford your rates! Haha! Also I’m a very very picky art director, so you would end up hating me. Thanks for the offer though! 🙂

      • No I actually responded to your first remark without reading the second! I don’t understand why you would think I would be offended-I’m not offended at all! Flattered in fact! Yeah, if you want to create gritty anime looking robots and a cartoony thinker guy, then I would truly appreciate it and advertise your work! Only if you want to though…I’m super flattered by your offer! Thank you! 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • Well, if you got really detailed anime style robots or a doofus caveman cartoon that’s trying to think I would definitely be interested, haha! and of course I’d give you a shoutout on fb, and credit you on my wordpress on the page as well as in posts. Sorry I’m too broke to pay you… 🙂

  15. Hi Kent. Looks like you’re casting your net for follows.
Intriguing that you roped me in considering the nutty nature of my blog material. That said, I’m a long standing sci-fi fan. I don’t read much of it these days – The Martian was the last book I put on my Kindle – but I’ll give your stuff a go. Are you seeking constructive criticism?

    • Thank you! Yes, social media is my chosen form of marketing. The agent/publishing house process seems agonizing. I’m not seeking constructive criticism, as I have that from personal sources, but I’m welcome to your comments! Those early chapters are definitely rougher, but I have learned a lot from them. Thanks for your interest! 🙂
