Dirty Sci-Fi Buddha is the website for me: author Kent Wayne. The site name comes from the subject material in my early pieces of writing.
Three works are featured. The first one is a series called Echo, a science fiction dystopia where a disillusioned warrior pushes his craft to its bloody limits, then attempts to break through into a realm of world-bending mastery. I’ve finished this four-volume series, and I’ve also posted some free sample chapters, click here to start reading.
To buy Echo Volume 1: Approaching Shatter on Amazon click here: Buy Echo
The second book is a high school adventure, full of profanity, psychedelics, and interdimensional shenanigans. Here’s the link for the book on Amazon: Kor’Thank: Barbarian Valley Girl. Sample chapters are available here: Sample Chapters for Kor’Thank: Barbarian Valley Girl
I’m working on a YA fantasy called the Unbound Realm, a three-volume series. I’ve finished books one and two, and I’m working on the third. Here’s a link to volume 1: A Door into Evermoor and here’s a link to volume 2: Weapons of Old Here are some sample chapters: Sample Chapters for the Unbound Realm.
Thanks for your interest! If you’re a writer, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing! Best way to reach me is by DMing me on Facebook. However, I have noticed some DMs getting filtered out by Facebook messenger, so if I don’t respond, just comment on my wall. I’ll take it down, DM you, and address your concerns. HI! Thanks for liking my blog post “James Bowen vs. Agatha Christie” . I’m amazed to be getting likes on my blog. TEN so far!!! NICE!
I need to re-read chapter Two of Echo. Too balls to juggle and I’m a lousy juggler! But I will get back to it. Thanks again for the LIKE!

That last line SHOULD read TOO MANY BALLS to juggle. That’s what happens when you write when you should be sleeping. My bad.

I do believe all of the ideas you’ve presented for
your post. They’re really convincing and can certainly work.
Nonetheless, the posts are very brief for newbies. May
you please prolong them a little from subsequent time?
Thanks for the post.

It’s great to meet you and thanks for reading my posts. I am a big fan of dystopian/sci fi fantasy and I am blown away by your imagination. Also, I like your Facebook posts – really motivational. Quick question – How do I begin to read Echo – chapter 1 here on the site? Is the book the same? The glossary so I understand the characters and the world you have built? What’s the best approach for a new reader? Thanks Kent.

Hey, thanks for the interest, AND the kind words! The chapters on this site are just samples; Echo is available in its full form on Kindle, either through the four individual books, or all of them collected together into the omnibus. 🙂

Kent, Your line: “enjoyed noting the layered, subtle connections that ran through the world” is true for worlds both in and out of imagination. I’ve written my first dystopia short story: “Slip”. I feel it wants to grow but I’m new to this and I don’t know yet how. Perhaps you would do me the kindness of reading it. I will be back to Echo soon. Thanks.

1796 is quite a following! Congratulations on your success, I marvel at your remark that you are new to this and appreciate even the idea that you have time for checking out what others are doing. I’ve been a reading advocate all my life and started writing as soon as I learned that all those funny parts of the pictures were letters that just might lead somewhere. My writing is mostly spiritual, first book And There Was War in Heaven, second, From Faith to Faith, and I took a break and wrote a Novelette that is a love story, To Those Who Would Love, They are each shown under Published on my blog, and I would love for you to read all are any of them.
I don’t like to read some things that stay in my mind, but I do enjoy reading things about the universe that we wonder about. Thanks for stopping by, and when you have time give me a critique.

I skimmed some of it. I enjoy the way you try to use logic to come to a conclusion. Most writers don’t understand that logic evokes a primal response; it is the way the world is structured, and once you structure premises so they form into logical conclusions, they have a higher chance of resonating with the human perception.

Thank you so much for taking a moment to read and like my work. I thought it was sincere and considerate of you so I figured I’d return the kind gesture. I am so proud and most importantly grateful to have someone like you (an accomplished author) take a liking to a piece of my work especially since it’s about 5 years old and I have so many more as well as new pieces that I definitely needed the inspiration which I thankfully have now so kudos to you for being my first form of support on here! I read your page as well and I am going to become an avid follower! Which of your books would you recommend I read first? Again, many thanks to you!

Thank you Bella! I dunno…my fiction is pretty dark, but there’s samples of stuff all up on my site. Musings is all philosophical bits. Not sure what would appeal to you, but that’s the selection so far. I’m gonna try my hand at young adult after I finish my current fiction piece, though. 🙂

I am just buying your Echo books on amazon now, planning to dive into them after I finish whatever it is I am reading now and then drop a review.

Hey thanks! It’s honestly just for me and relieving some of the mental pressure from day-to-day life. A super awesome bonus is that people like it sometimes.😅 And thanks much for trying out Echo! If you can make it past the first one, I promise the writing gets smoother, and in 3 and 4, I really dive deep into the magical/philosophical aspect of the world.

I’m new to WordPress and I’m not really a writer but I do my best and try to think of things that others might like. For the most part I’m on here for me as a way of getting away and help with the stress of life, and to meet others like yourself and to maybe make new friends as I can. I hope you may enjoy anything of mine you might take the time to read and I hope to enjoy many of yours.

Hey Buddha,
I’m new to blog writing. You were one my first follows and first followers (which I super appreciate, and besides, your stuff is great XD). I’ve seen a fall-off in gathering new followers and views and I was wondering: how did you hear about me? How do I attract more attention and get the word out there?
I’d love your advice. Thanks!

I periodically check my reader for certain tags, and I try and pay attention to new writers. I’d say establish a blogging schedule that is at least one post a day, more if you can manage it. WordPress has a scheduling option where you don’t have to publish immediately, so what I do is schedule 3 blog posts before work. Hope that helps!

Rather than tasks, if time is tight, I like to budget time. So you could do 15 minutes for a post, and if it’s not complete, you could pick it up the next 15-minute period. That might help with time budgeting.

I love the idea of combining “Eastern philosophy with dirty and disgusting humor.” It reminds me of the poem by Allen Ginsberg, “Footnote to Howl,” in which he writes: “The nose is holy! The soul is holy! The tongue and cock and hand and asshole holy! Everything is holy…” https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/54163/footnote-to-howl
