Dirty Sci-Fi Buddha is the website for me:  author Kent Wayne.  The site name comes from the subject material in my early pieces of writing.

Three works are featured.  The first one is a series called Echo, a science fiction dystopia where a disillusioned warrior pushes his craft to its bloody limits, then attempts to break through into a realm of world-bending mastery.  I’ve finished this four-volume series, and I’ve also posted some free sample chapters, click here to start reading.

      • Noobie? For a noobie, I’d say that was a damn good story. I’ve read to the first four chapters, and so far I find the story very engaging; and as a noobie writer (that short story I posted, that was my first creative writing in years!), whatever novice mistakes present in your work eluded me. 🙂

      • Hahaha! Thanks man! All I see is mistakes; the key I think is not to get emotional about them, and at a certain point, after I’ve done all I can think of to do, move on to bigger and better stuff.

  6. Hey, thanks for following my blog! I will definitely be checking out what you’ve written. I’ve loved scfi since a very young age, and can never seem to get enough. Hopefully this new year will see me finish up some of my own work.

      • Thank You! I thought about an editor, but in order to really control the tone, I don’t think I could use anything more than a copy editor. (Which I HAVE used, come to think about it, so I guess I lied, LOL!)

    Thank you so much for liking a couple of my short stories. I read what Echo is about and I often find that summaries for books are poorly written. YOURS, however, looks amazingggg! Absolutely makes me want to read your books!!! If you have time, please follow my blog, I would really appreciate feedback from you on some of my stories!

    • Hey Thank You So Much Sharissa!!! Echo’s gone through a ton of revision; you’d probably have said it was garbage when I first put it out, LOL! I’ve got a budding developer/buddy working on the website issues, but yeah, I DO need a like button, haha!

  22. We don’t always post pictures of ourselves, and some even use fictitious names. If yours is Kent Wayne, then I’m thinking you may not be from Asia. I could be wrong, until I study you more…through your writings. Yet there were no dirty Buddha’s when I lived there. But thank goodness, women will be women where ever they are. Thanks for the like.

    • I connect with my readers through humor and consistent engagement. That may not be the way that works for you, but it is of utmost importance to connect with your audience. As far as the ocean, I’m sure you could find a good one through a google search. Good luck! 🙂

  34. Good to hear from you again. Unlike you, i have only managed one published book, Mysterious
    Builder of Seattle Landmarks, Searching for My Father. It’s picking up on Amazon, just sold 11 copies at a Barnes and Noble. but it keeps me chained to the computer. Two others languish in the closet. your productivity is impressive.

  35. Yes, and when you publish, people say “Now that’s done and you can get back to real life.” Then you learn that writing the book is just the beginning! Still, I’m old now and grateful that even though I’, slow, writing/publishing/marketing is warding off Alzheimers.

    • It’s definitely got health benefits; I get in the flow state whenever I start writing or editing, and they say that that has really good effects on immune system and brain function. 🙂

  40. One thing I especially would like to know is the story ‘The Boy and the Sea Dragon’ is ready for submission or not. I have the whole novel already written. I have not posted the whole novel yet. How can I get people to leave comments on my blog? I am waiting to read your echo series.

  44. Good for you! Religion that can’t laugh is missing part of its humanity. And people wander around in a meat suit. It doesn’t get any dirtier than that. I think God has to be laughing, possibly to keep from throwing up.

    • Hey thanks Sean! I’m a bit nervous about what you think, as Echo 1 is mostly setup and bears the marks of my noobery, but if you make it to Echo 2, you’ll get blood n guts, and if you make it to Echo 3, you’ll get magic and existentialism! 🙂
