About

Dirty Sci-Fi Buddha is the website for me:  author Kent Wayne.  The site name comes from the subject material in my early pieces of writing.

Three works are featured.  The first one is a series called Echo, a science fiction dystopia where a disillusioned warrior pushes his craft to its bloody limits, then attempts to break through into a realm of world-bending mastery.  I’ve finished this four-volume series, and I’ve also posted some free sample chapters, click here to start reading.

The second book is a high school adventure, full of profanity, psychedelics, and interdimensional shenanigans.  Here’s the link for the book on Amazon:  Kor’Thank:  Barbarian Valley Girl.   Sample chapters are available here:  Sample Chapters for Kor’Thank:  Barbarian Valley Girl

I’m working on a YA fantasy called the Unbound Realm, a three-volume series.  I’ve finished books one and two, and I’m working on the third.  Here’s a link to volume 1:  A Door into Evermoor  and here’s a link to volume 2:  Weapons of Old  Here are some sample chapters:  Sample Chapters for the Unbound Realm.

Thanks for your interest!  If you’re a writer, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing!  Best way to reach me is by DMing me on Facebook.  However, I have noticed some DMs getting filtered out by Facebook messenger, so if I don’t respond, just comment on my wall.  I’ll take it down, DM you, and address your concerns.  Sorry to all those who never got a response; I wasn’t trying to be rude!  🙂

  2. Hey Dirty Sci Fi Buddha – thank you for following my page. How nice to see this blend of science fiction, Eastern Philosophy and comedy, Seems a strange brew at first glance and then you remember that Buddhism is a very pro-humour and pro-science philosophy… so I’m looking forward to having a nose through your work.

    • Thank You Back Ligia! I tried to encapsulate the theme of my stories in the covers…but my artists probably hate me for being an annoying art director. I make sure I tip ’em extra lol

    • Thank You So Much! I like to give all potential readers fair warning: Echo 1 is filled with my noob mistakes, Echo 2 is one long day of pew pew even though there is important character dev in it, and Echo 3 goes into magical weirdness. Thank You for the kind words, Gian! Best of luck on your blogging adventures!!! 🙂

    • Thank You Back Wynn! While I can’t take the credit for the illustration, I CAN take credit for the concepts as well as being a really annoying art director to my artists, LOL! (I do tip them extra because of this haha)

    • Well the buddha-bro was kind of a first fumbling attempt at writing and I’m the first to admit that it sucks. Echo does blend east and west as well, but not so overtly. Yep—definitely fun stuffing mystical themes into a world full of cyborg killers lol!

  7. First, congratulations on your books getting published, wish you luck and health for 4th volume you’re working on. All of your books look interesting. Look forward to read. Also, everyone is an amateur at some point if time in writing or their field of interest. The fun lies in learning and exploring our potential; transitioning from pathetic to pro…lol…

    Thanks for following my blog.

    • Thank You So Much Ricky!!! Indeed—I’m really just getting a kick out of entertaining people and interacting with ’em. Stressing about whether or not I’m successful is just that—stress. Unnecessary and counterproductive. Having fun and sharing with others is the important part! 🙂

    • Well fair warning: Echo #1 is full of my noob mistakes, #2 is a battle that happens in a single day, and #3 is where I get into magical weirdness. If those don’t turn you off, then have at ’em! Good luck with your blogging adventures, Sangeprairie! 🙂

  9. Thank you very much for the follow. I’ve only been blogging on here a month and a half, and so far it’s been an interesting journey in trying to explore myself through writing. Thank you for your interest in my blog and your encouragement to those who have written comments here. I normally don’t read sci-fi, but I may have to give your blog a follow.

  11. Nice concept. Religion or made up religion always stirs the heart. Culture comes second. Culture and religion were in Greg Bear’s Queen of Angels, which was a memorable read.

    • Indeed. Operating systems such as religion tend to make people emotionally very invested, but without accounting for modern context, these systems can become dangerous and counterproductive. To follow any of the holy texts in a literal sense would cause a lot of problems to any society

    • Thank You Back Oscar! What a great pic! I wanted to get a beagle when I was married, but my wife at the time said they made too much noise. However, I love their squat little forms and their dome heads LOL!
