This is true. In fact I read somewhere that the only wisdom you should follow is the one that has survived the test of the time.
I think if ideas are to be taken seriously, they should be put into everyday practice! I get a great deal of inspiration reading the wisdom of ancients too — especially the Stoics, and more recently, the masters of Zen.
Solomon said that. There is nothing new under the sun, but it sure as heck helps if the old things are brought forth in a fresh manner and people pay attention this time!
