Discipline for discipline’s sake (or toughness for toughness’s sake), is a stupid, counterproductive religion. People need the right mix of internal qualities that allow them to get the job done, and also allow them to navigate their cravings. The emphasis on ANY internal quality should be on task accomplishment and living a fulfilling existence; [discipline/toughness/etc.] shouldn’t turn into sick displays that illustrate how much better one person is than another.
I dig it. But I’m disciplined because I don’t know another way to be

Me too. I find for guys like us, the peril is in being attached to old routines without examining them. And not letting off steam and turning into a crazy person, haha!

I think I am a hybrid there are things that are important to me and being disciplined is not work, its second nature there. Other stuff, I am day dreamer, moody, don’t you have days when you want to just partake in everyday-day-domino-effect, sometimes the greatest joy is… ‘let see what happens’ 🙂 I don’t know if that’s normal though 😀

I try and cut away stuff that’s not important to the things I love. I’ve seen too many people fade throughout their lives, always saying they’ll get to it tomorrow.
