Why do sages speaks in riddles and parables? Β IMHO, it’s because verbal communication is anΒ imperfect medium. Β

(You gotta twist up words to untwist existence.)

  1. In my opinion, parables function like metaphors and allow the sage or prophet to speak of complex themes using language and concepts his audience understands. Riddles, not so much.

      1. Maybe it’s just how my mind works. I do metaphors better than riddles.

      2. Nah I’d say it’s the way existence worksβ€”we’re both speaking of the same thing but it would be boring if we phrased it the same way. πŸ˜‰
