I love some of the classics that I’ve read in school. But IMHO, rather than slavish devotion to “the greats,” it is more important to be influenced by what you ENJOY.

seriously though Frodo’s courage made me believe I can do great things – power to me at 5 feet 2 inches.
I went back and tried to read some of the classics I struggled through in high school. So far, Ethan Fromme – better than when I first read it, but it’s like a romance novel with Puritans. Heart of Darkness – still hate it. It’s depressing and the point of view is confusing. It’s a story about a guy told by another guy through the eyes of another guy.
