About

Dirty Sci-Fi Buddha is the website for me:  author Kent Wayne.  The site name comes from the subject material in my early pieces of writing.

Three works are featured.  The first one is a series called Echo, a science fiction dystopia where a disillusioned warrior pushes his craft to its bloody limits, then attempts to break through into a realm of world-bending mastery.  I’ve finished this four-volume series, and I’ve also posted some free sample chapters, click here to start reading.

The second book is a high school adventure, full of profanity, psychedelics, and interdimensional shenanigans.  Here’s the link for the book on Amazon:  Kor’Thank:  Barbarian Valley Girl.   Sample chapters are available here:  Sample Chapters for Kor’Thank:  Barbarian Valley Girl

I’m working on a YA fantasy called the Unbound Realm, a three-volume series.  I’ve finished books one and two, and I’m working on the third.  Here’s a link to volume 1:  A Door into Evermoor  and here’s a link to volume 2:  Weapons of Old  Here are some sample chapters:  Sample Chapters for the Unbound Realm.

Thanks for your interest!  If you’re a writer, I wish you inspired drafting and insightful editing!  Best way to reach me is by DMing me on Facebook.  However, I have noticed some DMs getting filtered out by Facebook messenger, so if I don’t respond, just comment on my wall.  I’ll take it down, DM you, and address your concerns.  Sorry to all those who never got a response; I wasn’t trying to be rude!  🙂

  1. i am a bit challenged. i am trying to find you on facebook & failing. but i did figure out why your name pops up so many comic book pages–durp. you must feel pretty obviously incognito with a name like that (haha).
however, i can’t find your page. can you give me a link? i am interested in hearing musings out of your head (unfortunately i do not have time to read longer works…as i stare at a pile of books to the right of me that are not getting read….) hence my searching for your facebook page.
    so! i’m at https://www.facebook.com/em.mccarty.5

  2. Thanks for following my blog. My venues are mil-sci-fi and fantasy, more speculative than anything else, and mostly just having some fun while I’m at it. I love inventing impossible weapons and poking pomposity. And keeping people guessing.

    • Thank You Back! I’m a big fan of all you’ve mentioned. Warren Ellis is one of my favorite comic authors, and when I need to tap the aforementioned fields, I find myself coming back to his work. 🙂

    • Thank You Back! Like I warn everyone who starts Echo: It’s my first attempt at fiction, it contains a lot of noob mistakes, and it’s pretty dark. That being said, thank you for the kind words and interest! 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • Thank You So Much! Echo is pretty dark, and my first attempt at fiction, and honestly I can’t stand reading volume 1 anymore because I want to go back and rewrite the whole thing, but it was definitely the best I could do at the time. Thank you for the interest! 🙂

    • Thank You Back! I’ll tell you what I tell everyone: Apologies in advance as it’s my first work of fiction and has noob mistakes, it’s dark, and it ends on a cliffhanger. Hopefully it’ll still entertain. Thank You!!! 🙂

    • Thank You So Much! And forewarning: Echo 1 is my first attempt at fiction, and filled with noob mistakes. It’s fairly dark and ends on a cliffhanger. That being said, your interest means the world to a budding indie author like me! Thank You! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. Thanks for the follow 😊. Unfortunately, I don’t have the technology to read ebooks (I know, I’m behind the times; I still prefer paper), but, your book sounds intriguing, and I wish you the best of luck with it.

  4. Hey there!
I have added Echo to my read list, it sounds like the sort of thing I’m looking for.
I was also wondering, do you do the cover art yourself? It’s pretty good 🙂

  5. Thanks for the follow. Was attempting cultural cohesion and religious tolerance in ‘What If I Go?’ ebook with Solstice Publishing, out end of month. Its a headsup for students to avoid gang controlling and a coming-of-age girl’s quest for love. Its great to think BIG! I’m a newbie too!

    • Thank You Back! Yep, I can’t read my earlier stuff without cringing…but when I look at Stephen King and Carrie vs his recent stuff I figure why not? It’s only my pride that makes it an issue
